An all-skills clinic with a Division I starter

Top Tier is bringing UCF infielder and utility player Izzy Mertes to The Dugout for a three-hour, all-around skills clinic. She is one of the most productive hitters in UCF program history, an All-Big 12 selection who does a little bit of everything for the Knights.

The clinic is split into two sessions by age group, so every athlete trains with players their own age. Athletes work through hitting, defense, and game-situation reps with real-time coaching from a current Division I starter, and walk away with drills they can use all season.

Built for competitive youth players ages 9 to 16.

Izzy Mertes

Junior · Utility · UCF Softball

One of the top all-around players in the Big 12

Izzy Mertes is a junior utility player at the University of Central Florida. A two-time NFCA All-Gulf Region selection and 2026 All-Big 12 Second Team honoree, she was also named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team in 2025.

In 2026 she matched UCF’s all-time single-season record with 18 doubles and drove in 54 runs. Across two seasons as a Knight she has built a .319 career batting average with 20 home runs.

A Chatsworth, California native and Notre Dame High School product, Izzy won a national championship with the OC Batbusters and was a top-100 national recruit before arriving in Orlando. She brings an energetic, detail-focused coaching style to every session.

Questions

Which session should my athlete register for?

Register by age group. 10U and 12U players train from 10AM-1PM, and 14U and 16U players train from 1:30PM-4:30PM. Both sessions are on Sunday, November 29 at The Dugout.

Who is the clinic for?

Competitive youth softball players ages 9 to 16. The clinic is split into a 10U & 12U session and a 14U & 16U session, so every athlete trains with players their own age.

How much individual attention will my athlete get?

The clinic runs with a low athlete-to-coach ratio and small-group skill blocks, so every player gets meaningful reps, individual correction, and a personal evaluation of strengths and areas to improve.
